Chelan Riverwalk Park

Lake Chelan is a giant. Carved by glaciers into a deep trench in the mountains, it stretches more than fifty miles up into the North Cascades and ranks among the deepest lakes in the country, with its bed dropping far below sea level. All that water has only one natural way out, and it is here at the town of Chelan, where the lake pinches to a narrow neck and spills into the Chelan River.
