Our Promise to You

Keeping things clean and straightforward is a core value here. Your email is never shared with third-party advertisers, corporate aggregators, or automated data brokers.

Any information you provide is used solely to operate your account, sync your saved places across your devices, and send you information directly related to Boutels. For the full details on how your information is collected, used, and protected, please review our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

What a Free Membership Unlocks

When you sign in, your map transforms from a simple directory into a personalized trip-building dashboard. Here is what members get access to:

1. The Exclusive Trip Planner Dashboard

While anyone can view the map, members unlock the dedicated Trip Planner.

  • Build your route: Seamlessly map out your drive by combining handpicked Boutels, local Gems, National Parks, and practical roadside stops like highway Rest Areas and EV charging stations into a unified journey.
  • Track your progress: Organize your saved stops into custom itineraries so you always know what is coming up next down the highway.

2. Advanced Member Filters

Non-members see the full map, but members get exclusive control over their view with powerful sorting lenses located right on the interface:

  • Favorites: Instantly isolate just the properties and stops you have starred.
  • Going and Visited status: Track your road-trip milestones. Mark places as Going to build your upcoming itinerary, or flag them as Visited to log your history on the open road.
  • Private notes: Jot down custom notes for any motel, trail, or town that only you can see.
  • Community shares: Access and contribute photos and reflections directly linked to specific map pins.

Membership FAQ

Is a Boutels account really free?

Yes, completely. Everyone can use the public Road Trip Planner map for free with no account. Creating an account is also free and unlocks the personal planning tools: the Trip Planner, favorites, private notes, and Going and Visited tracking. There is no paid tier and no credit card required.

Do you sell my email or personal data?

No. We do not sell or share your email with third-party advertisers, corporate aggregators, or automated data brokers. Anything you provide is used only to operate your account, sync your saved places across your devices, and send you information directly related to Boutels.

What do I get when I create a free account?

Your map becomes a personal trip-building dashboard. You get the dedicated Trip Planner to combine Boutels, Gems, National Parks, Rest Areas, and EV chargers into one route, advanced filters for Favorites and Going and Visited status, private notes on any place, and community photo sharing, all synced across your devices.

Do I need an account to use the map?

No. The full Road Trip Planner map is free and public, with every Boutel, Gem, National Park, rest area, and EV charger visible to everyone. An account simply adds the personal tools to save, track, and organize your own trip.

Do I need a password to sign in?

No. Boutels uses passwordless accounts, so there is nothing to remember or leak. You sign in with a secure one-time link sent to your email, or with Google. That is it.

Will I get a lot of marketing emails?

No. There are no marketing blasts and no spam. We only send email that is directly related to Boutels and your account, and we do not sell or share your address with advertisers, aggregators, or data brokers.

Is there a Boutels app?

There is no separate app to download or update. Boutels is a web app, so simply visiting Boutels.com works on any device, phone, tablet, or computer.
