The Virginia City Inn occupies a prime position on C Street, the legendary main drag of one of the American West's most storied boomtowns. Virginia City was the site of the Comstock Lode, the largest silver strike in American history, and in its 1860s peak it was one of the largest and wealthiest cities in the West. Mark Twain worked here as a reporter. The Virginia & Truckee Railroad carried its ore. Piper's Opera House hosted presidents and showmen.
