Each of the rooms is hand-built and entirely original, with curved papercrete walls, bold painted color, and domed ceilings unlike any two others. Rooms include a romantic faux fireplace. Rooms open onto the central garden atrium, where the fish pond and year-round blooms create a sense of being inside a living greenhouse rather than a corridor. The property sits one block north of Highway 90 in Marathon, a town of roughly four hundred people at the edge of the Trans-Pecos desert. The grounds include a solar-heated indoor lap pool, a rooftop stargazing deck, a central covered garden atrium with fish pond and gathering fire pit, and the organic greenhouse that supplies fresh produce year-round. The building is a freestanding compound with on-site parking. At night, Brewster County's dark sky designation makes the rooftop deck one of the best unassisted stargazing spots in the region.
