In the early 2000s a group of residents and artists set out to remake the town around creativity, restoring its historic buildings and drawing galleries and studios to Center Street.

The effort worked well enough that Vermont designated Brandon a state art town, and the Artists Guild sits at the center of that story, both a symbol of the revival and one of its engines.
